Research Regurgitation

Schumann's music is often enigmatic and personal. He liked to hide names (spelled out in note names) in his pieces, and he often imbued pieces with their own personalities.

René Magritte described his paintings as "visible images which conceal nothing; they evoke mystery and, indeed, when one sees one of my pictures, one asks oneself this simple question, 'What does that mean?'. It does not mean anything, because mystery means nothing either, it is unknowable."

For example, a standard musical score is simply a text of notes on staves that show the performer which notes to play. After a violin score has been annotated by the performing violinist, as illustrated by Ingold, it seems to be a document of performance carrying ‘bowings and markings’. This equation is art.
