top ten list no.3

Top Ten reasons I do rowing

1) Fitness - it's good for your fitness and like, I want some of that
2) Early morning rowing - it might sound bad but you should see how pretty everything is. I'd put up a photo but I haven't taken one yet
3) Endorphins - rowers are happy people, really
4) Life-less-ness - it's an excuse not to have a life. "what did you do on the weekend" "oh I had rowing"
5) Ergos - they're like, love at first sight aren't they? (no.)
6) Not caring - no one can look good and row at the same time
7) Blisters - and the joy when they harden into calluses
8) Tan lines - explains itself
9) Eating - I probably shouldn't, but you feel like you can eat whatever you want 'because you deserve it'
10) Pride - everyone hates us, but we know they're just jealous

totally unrelated: i got a blender yesterday :)

Posting Just A Shade After Joy: Day 2

Top Ten Things I Like About Art:

1. Ubiquity - the curves on my calculator are aesthetically pleasing
2. Anyone can do it - although to what extent I'm not so sure
3. Variety - it comes in an infinitive amount of forms
4. What is art? - it's so controversial, up there with religion perhaps?
5. The people - who make art
6. Dialects? - it's a language which we all, but don't speak
7. Easytofallfor - and easy to fall out of
8. Enigmatic - nobody knows what it actually is
9. Development - it's like growing up again
10. Conversation - so, so many of these

Yeah yeah Joy, this may be the second day you've posted before me. Argh. I was meaning to do so in the morning but the procrastination bug got me again. Just for you, I will show you something which I painted a couple of years ago. Interesting memories and foreshadowing to what I would become today:

top ten list no.2

Top ten places I want to go and why
1) Ireland - because England seems like the wet boring city, Scotland seems like it's full of kilts and haggis and hills, and Wales is the one no one knows about. Ireland seems pretty and I love their accents :)
2) Spain - I really want to go to the tomato festival, and Vicky Christina Barcelona made Spain look amazing
3) Tanzania - or anywhere in Africa to see the animals
4) The Philippines - because everyone there is pretty and I want to know what it looks like
5) Hawaii - because Jack Johnson lives there :)
6) Italy - just for the food
7) France - because I can speak it (sort of)
8) Japan - not Tokyo, but some little places where it's nice and country-like with real sushi and fresh food
9) Iceland - because it sounds cool :)
10) okay, I really can't decide. I'm going to put New Zealand even though I've been there before. Because it's got zorbing and bungee jumping and it's really pretty.

Oh and Brig - you can't actually post before me because you have to copy my list. So do I win?

Posting After Joy: First Day

I'm getting lazy, so I'm copying Joy's post. I could turn this into an evil weekly theme - "Copying Joy's posts". Here it goes:

Top Ten Things Which I'm Completely Hopeless At
1. Graphic design - it looks like vomit on a page
2. Keeping my word - truly dependent on what it is though
3. Direction - even with a map I can get lost
4. Finishing anything - this trend extends to art, books and projects..
5. Keeping a daily routine - I used to know what a routine was
6. Conversation - it's usually when I think about it, everything turns to custurd
7. Knowing when to stop - with anything
8. Dancing - there's proof which I'm not going to show you
9. Framing photos - my wall is proof of that
10. Being myself

Okay, top ten lists till the next Friday, Joy? I think so...

Dear Reader,

It was halfway through this blog 365 nine days ago. Just thought that you should know that, unless Joy mentioned it before. Awkward.

Well, I'm writing to you because, I just...never really took the time to say thank you for reading this blog. As tiny as the amount of readers we have is (that was really bad English), people are people - which counts as people. And I think that it is three people. Or more. Lurkers. I lurk many sites and never tell the people I lurk - so I guess that it's only fair that lurkers don't have to un-lurk themselves. That's mean.

How are you?

That was a bit late, but I felt obligated to ask.

I'm on holiday at the moment (as of 3:20pm today), so I'm free all day. Kind of. But free for most of the time. Which means that, I have a feeling that I've talked about this already...

"The holidays are coming up at the end of the week. Which means I have three weeks of free days. Or free weeks of three days. Days of free three weeks. There. Which means that I'll have more time to spend on things, such as this. I'm quite glad though that this blog hasn't turned in a chore - because as we know, chores aren't fun. Unless you're a cleaning hound. I have yet to meet a second one."

That's embarrassing, I actually did. So I reiterate my point...I have plenty of time for the next three weeks, which means that I could be conjuring something very interesting. Including ditching this weekly theme. I can't write letters for an entire week. I write enough letters as is. Argh.

Okay. Ditching the theme.
Back to random regurgitated information tomorrow.
Joy, I have to let you know about stuff. Get on MSN, or AIM or something.

Dear Agent Smith,

Even though you are actually Hugo Weaving, I will pretend that your real self does not exist and instead, talk to your fictional character whom you played in The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. You were extremely cool and I plan on running a Matrix marathon, by myself.

Anyway, I'd like to say thank you for existing. Truly. Your sunglasses will beat Horatio's any day - which leads me to thank you some more for not taking them off...and putting them on every doggamned scene you're in with a snappy punchline which makes you go, "ooohhhhhh". Your cool ways with messing with Neo's mind, as well as everyone else's has made you truly inspiring.

Then you hit closer to (my) home, when you popped up in some after-exam-end-of-the-year game in year nine science. We did not fully understand the game, but it was pretty fun playing with a miniature (but pixalated) card cut-out of you. Then I decided to use you in my year ten art painting topic. It was rather fun, having a small you in the corner...and then a big you in the other corner. The red and blue drips symbolised the real world and The Matrix...and...yeah.

Even though your hairline is receding, your cool hasn't receded at all.
Keep it up,
Brigitte

Dear Person In The Sky,

Even though I do not believe in you, not being to be wholly controversial, I'd like to thank you. This week has been so darn awesome. Everything I say is awesome, and awesome things are awesomely happening. I thank my sudden hit of the common cold to be the cause of this awesomeness, but I do not know.

The thing is, that, I have been...feeling kind of different. Not variably different. But like, I've switched flavours of cordial. I don't know whether I'll run out of this flavour/run back to my original flavour - but I'm kind of enjoying this slight revamp in personality.

Yet again, the placebo effect is probably at it again. Damn reverse psychology. The sugar pills just taste so good.

Just thought that I'd let you know,
Brigitte

Dear Sick Person,

No, you are not sick in the mind/head. You are sick. Not sadistically sick, sorry. I mean, you have tiny chickens laying tiny eggs in your head. Your head is just as blocked as mine, yet you still go to school.

I could possibly blame you for making me sick, although I'm not entirely sure if you actually did render me unhealthy in the first place - I could have just made myself sick by making poor health choices. 1) The fact that I do not listen to my mother's warnings about catching the 'chill' 2) Acting upon 1). But, it always feels better to blame the other person. Which I do, most of the time.

When we will get better, I don't know - but it better be sometime soon. This sickness only seems to hit me once in the winter time and once in any arbitrarily given season. Not good, but better than some who are just a *little* sick throughout the entire year. It hits us in giant...smacks of sickness.

On the other hand, being sick means that you get to complain about how sick you are and get out of things - which wouldn't happen otherwise. It's kind of, nice to get some sympathy too. Note that no sympathy is given during the winter season, because everyone is sick. If anyone did feel sorry for you, then that would be kind of absurd. Everyone is either sick, or not sick during winter, or any other time...actually. The people who are sick feel sorry for themselves and the people who aren't feel sorry for the ones who are out of pure courtesy. I don't think that they actually do care. Or do they?

Have fun anyway, I have to go and clear my nasal passageway.

A Weekly Theme:

(Which I promise to actually stick to).

As you may have noticed, I have conjured up many weekly themes; which I have only stuck to about once or twice. It's crunch time, or not. I just need to make a weekly theme and stick to it. So I came up with one which shouldn't be too hard. Given that this week goes by smoothly.

I plan to spent the rest of this week (until Sunday), writing a letter to a person each day. I haven't decided who these people are going to be yet, or whether I'll be naming them. So that's why I'm going to leave an update section below.

UPDATE SECTION: 6:47pm - Okay. The person I decide on for whatever day will be purely arbitrary, meaning that no one in particular is special if they get a letter from me (more like a curse of rambled nonsense). Let's go with first names since I'll probably find myself reading these in a couple year's time, finding myself completely clueless as to who they are to. Woohoo. Weekly themes.

The holidays are coming up at the end of the week. I have yet to meet a second one.

Rambling phase? No? I just ruined it by stating so.
Joy, we have to start tagging our posts.

Head Noise

Er, looks a bit Jackson Pollock. I'm starting to dislike this series. Believe it or not, I can't wait to start writing again.

The Bear Truth

Fortunately, I remembered to post today. Unfortunately, this is a bear.

I've decided to alleviate the hardships of a 365, I'll be sticking in series till I feel more secure about things. A week of punny drawings.
