regatta

So this is how today went.
I woke up in the middle of an awesome dream and the moon was still out and it was really big and round and a scary yellow orange colour. So I got ready, got to Carum by 7am. Lilly took me and she has a dog called Cookie and he is the cutest thing ever.
It was freezing there. And our first race went horribly. (sorry Brig you won't understand a thing). We had an average start, but didn't get into the stride well and basically the rating was about 35 and we were rushing up the slide and not finishing off. Then within the first 250m we realised we were all absolutely exhausted for some reason so it was just awful from there. Except we weren't even far behind the other 2 crews, it was pretty even but we were just SO tired and couldn't row properly. We went by MLC crews on their way up and I thought that would give me energy but it didn't. And Gill was trying her best to get us to go harder and stronger but I just zoned her out and just focused on moving back and forth which is pretty bad. And I guess the same goes for the rest of my crew but I can't really speak for them.
So we lost that race by not much. And in our chat we said stuff we needed to work on like control up to the catch and keeping in time. We had drinks and food and basically tried to wake up properly.
Then we had our second race which was the B final. We got there early so we had to wait and get nervous, but we had a good feeling about it cause it couldn't go worse than the first one. When we started it was good and then when Gill called the stride it was heaps better than the first one, rating 32 and all finishing off. We won that race by heaps so I thought that was great.
Our coaches didn't seem as happy as us but I guess that's their job to tell us what else we need to work on.
So now we have started rowing season :) :) Went to the supermarket and stocked up on hand tape and up&go and powerade and trail bars :)
THATS ALLLLL
